Full-time Program Assistant with Extended LPN Duties (POSTED 07/02/2019)

The Bouchea Center for Learning is recruiting for a full-time Program Assistant to provide, in cooperation with the Specialist, an environment that maximizes independence and self-respect for each program participant. This person will work with an experienced team to develop basic independence skills and will provide personal care and community experiences for adults with disabilities.

Additionally, this person will have extended duties to provide oversight and training to DSP staff implementing doctor’s orders for the medical needs of individuals in a day program setting as a Licensed Practical Nurse and on-call duties throughout the workday.

 

Requirements: This position requires current licensure as an LPN to provide oversight and training to Direct Support staff implementing doctor’s orders for the medical needs of individuals in a day program setting. Extensive LPN experience is required along with a respect for all people, a sense of humor, a valid driver’s license and safe driving record, and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.          

 

Beneficial: Experience with adults with physical and/or cognitive disabilities, DSP certification, knowledge of CRMA guidelines, and the ability to train Direct Support staff.

 

Schedule: This is a Monday-Friday full-time position with full benefits. Hours will be from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. The LPN on-call duties may be at any time during the workday as needed. Generally, the hours will be split with an approximate 75/25 ratio.
