Assistant Program Director

This is a professional position in an established, CARF accredited agency providing support for adults with intellectual disabilities. The Assistant Program Director will assist the Program Director to develop and support programs at multiple sites and with the daily oversight of operations. This position may require working directly with persons served to maximize opportunities and to improve quality of life.

Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. DSP certification and positive behavioral supports are desirable. Individual must be able to work with staff and persons served in a positive, respectful manner. Must possess strong organizational, oral, written, and conflict resolution skills.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with full benefits. Hours are generally Monday-Friday; however, this position may include occasional weekend and evening on-call duties as needed.

Community Supports serves people wishing to increase independence in a community setting. Groups and individuals meet regularly to learn and practice skills.

Home Supports provides individuals who live independently or with their families with the assistance they need to live as independently as possible. Supports are delivered primarily in the home but also in the community depending on need.

MHCPV Housing provides housing and residential services to persons with developmental disabilities in three separate HUD subsidized apartment buildings in Bangor.

Pathways to Employment is an employment oriented daily program that encourages personal initiative and works with persons served to choose a path toward a full and meaningful life whether employment is in your future or you have chosen another direction.
